Contract  Management 

 

In the last 8 years, I´ve been working with contract/claims  management for EPC projects , coordinating Pre-award / Post Award and close out contract management activities, i.e Project contracting planning / schedule; detailed area resource surveys of contractor capability; project bidders list; preparing and developing contract bid packages; contract risk assessment; risk mitigation reviews; bid explanation meetings; evaluating bid documents; security of pricing information; recommendations and coordinating contract award; Preparing and administering contract documents ; monitor of contractor progress and contract compliance; claim handling; project claim prevention; status reporting; coordination of final acceptance of work; evaluating contractor performance etc.

Recently I became a Certified Cost Professional by the AACEI and the paper that I submitted had the following title “A Brazilian approach on claims prevention”, where I review the main causes of construction claims and how to mitigate their affects, and proposes a way to increase awareness of claim prevention techniques by means of the implementation of training, certifications, procedures and usage of AACE International Recommended Practices.
